Due to several reasons including 2025 weather and frozen ground sneaking up sooner than expected, the JMMY Center will not have an outdoor skating rink this season. However, the JMMY Board would like to thank Grady Ballard for spreading the soil at the JMMY Center in late November to help prepare the ground.
2025-26 Season: It took a lot of effort and planning in 2021, and the Community Ice Skating Rink for the Town of Georgia has been a reality each winter since then - except for 2025-26. Normally, one can find the rink on the premises of the JMMY Center at 1486 Stone Bridge road, across the street from the Georgia Plain Baptist Church. But as mentioned above, the JMMY Center rink is cancelled this season. Please note: When active, this project is made possible each season by the JMMY Board, the Georgia Fire Department, and other community volunteers. Seasons that the rink is up and running, please keep in mind that volunteers are needed and welcome to help with snow removal and re-surfacing the ice.
To use the rink, community members are asked to fill out the waiver each season. https://jmmyvt.org/skating-waiver
Signage appears each season at the entrance to the rink once it is constructed regarding requirements for skating and when it's open. More up to date information, click is the link: https://jmmyvt.org/services/rink-hours
